Welcome. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This privacy policy describes how we handle information in our apps in plain terms. When we say "our apps" or "this app," we mean the applications we publish (such as Bookreadpile); we may update this policy to cover additional apps or changes.

2. Information We Collect

What happens in the app (e.g. Bookreadpile):

• Your library, reading progress, notes, quotes, and similar data are stored locally on your device.
• No account or login is required to use the core features; you can start using the app without providing personal information to us.
• To add books and load covers, the app may send requests to third-party services (such as Open Library) using identifiers like ISBN or book title—not your identity.
• If you choose to subscribe (e.g. Bookreadpile Plus), payment and subscription status are handled by Apple; we do not receive your payment details. Our app may use a service (e.g. RevenueCat) to understand subscription status so we can unlock features; that service may receive an anonymous identifier and subscription state, not your reading data.
• We do not use the app to track your activity for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

3. How We Use Information

We do not use your personal data for marketing or analytics. Any data that remains on your device is used only by the app to provide the features you use (e.g. showing your library, stats, and exports). If we use a subscription provider, it is only to know whether you have an active subscription so we can enable the right features.

4. Third-Party Services

Our apps may interact with the following types of third-party services:

• Apple: App distribution, in-app purchases, and subscription management. Apple's privacy policy applies to those interactions.
• Open Library (openlibrary.org): For book search and cover images. When you search or load a cover, the app may send book identifiers (e.g. ISBN, title) to Open Library. We do not send your name, email, or other personal data to Open Library. See Open Library's own terms and privacy practices for their use of data.
• Subscription / entitlement providers: To verify subscription status (e.g. so Plus features work correctly). Such providers typically receive an anonymous app/device identifier and subscription state, not your reading content.

We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or sites for ads.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your reading data stays on your device unless you choose to export it (e.g. CSV or JSON) or share it yourself. We may disclose information only if required by law (e.g. valid legal process) or to protect our rights or safety, in line with applicable law.

6. Data Retention and Export

Because we do not store your library or reading data on our servers, there is nothing for us to retain. Data you create in the app remains on your device until you delete it or the app. Our apps provide export options (e.g. CSV, JSON) so you can back up or move your data at any time.

7. Your Rights

You control your data on your device. You can export it, delete the app (which removes local data), or manage subscriptions through your Apple ID. If you are in a region that grants specific privacy rights (e.g. access, deletion, portability), we do not hold your personal data on our systems, so there is nothing for us to return or delete from our side. For subscription-related data held by Apple or our subscription provider, their policies and your device/account settings apply.

8. Children's Privacy

Our apps do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app can be used without providing personal data to us. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us through an app, contact us and we will address it in line with applicable law.

9. Security

Your data is stored on your device. We do not transmit or store your library or notes on our servers. Keeping your device secure (e.g. passcode, updates) helps protect your data. For payments and subscriptions, Apple's and our providers' security practices apply.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. We will describe significant changes in the policy or in App Store update notes where appropriate. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
